What we offer for 11+

We offer 11+ classes in small groups, which are largely tailored to the students’ needs to further reinforce areas of weaknesses. We teach fundamental literacy and numeracy skills along with verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. In addition, we instruct students on techniques used to perform under test conditions and offer test-taking strategy including problem-solving. Homework is set on a weekly basis to reinforce learning concepts and techniques and an online test is also set on a weekly basis that helps us understand and correct any weaknesses of our students.

The classes are taught at our Woolwich centre (located at 31 Thomas Street, Woolwich SE18 6HU) as well as our Orpington micro centre and are very popular. Early booking is advised. To reserve a space please email admin@philiptrainingcentre.com or call us on 0208 617 9116 / 07476 154145

What is the 11+ Exam?

11+ Exam refers to competitive school entrance exams that are typically required for entrance to selective independent and grammar schools in the UK. These types of exams are called 11+ exams as they refer to the age that a child will be in the year that they start in that school, many eleven plus exams are highly selective.

This exam has changed dramatically in recent years, with examiners insisting that it is “tutor-proof”. However, the fact remains that although 75% of the exam is based on the national curriculum, the remaining 25% won’t necessarily be. In addition, schools are not in a position to teach specifically towards this exam. This leaves a gap in knowledge – and practice – that is filled by our expert 11+ exam tutors.

What we cover in 11+ Exam Preparation?

Our 11+ Exam tuition prepares students for Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning & Non-Verbal Reasoning (CEM/GL Assessment).
